By scooter through the Karst

The Moravian Karst offers a wide variety of interesting places worth seeing. Next to the best known sights (such as Macocha Abyss and the five publicly accessible caves) there can be found both cool karst valleys and sunny fields with bare white limestones, thermophilic phytocoenoses characteristic for steppe grasses, with many kinds of colourful batterflies completing the atmosphere. Also mysterious submerged rivers and streams, stone windmills or ruined medieval castles markedly belong to the landscape of the Moravian Karst.

Vilémovice by Macocha

The village of Vilémovice is situated in the proximity of the well-known Macocha Abyss and the caves Punkevní, Kateřinská and Balcarka. Vilémovice dispose of its own sagging – bellow the village green pond the water sags into the depth of 70 metres, where it flows through the underground cave system into Malý Výtok in the valley of Pustý Žleb. Another local speciality is a speleology museum. In the local Včelka buffet you can taste the regional products such as honey, mead, goat cheese, blue cheese NIVA or a wide variety of beer from the brewery of Černá Hora.
